Strange But True

I got a new hit counter the other day. Er, well, I got two of them to be exact. One that I let all of you see, and one that is invisible. The visible one makes me happy because it counts all page loads as hits and doesn't care if I'm the one doing the hitting, which boosts the numbers. The other one, however doesn't count when I visit, and doesn't count repeat visits in the total number of hits for the day. It also has all kinds of statistics attached to it so I can see who has been visiting, where they're from, their cat's name, etc.

While this does make me a bit paranoid on one level, it also appeals to my geeky side. I like numbers. They're simple and while they* don't actually mean a whole lot, it's fun to pretend they do.

So, just to let you know, today, April 8th, 2005:

8% of people who visited my blog stayed for more than an hour
58% stayed for less than 5 seconds (wankers)
90% were from America
3% were from Portugal
and
SuperMikeyPants visited 17 times

I promise to come up with something more interesting to write about in the near future.

*"They" being my blog's statistics, not numbers in general.

PS I am very confused as to why Blogger's spell checker doesn't know the word "blog". It also doesn't know "wanker"...

I only visit because I love and want to be the one to lay you and end your pubic draught. Oh, and as for the taking over of small nations, if you are given a talent, it is a waste not to use it.

Dude, you're not supposed to admit to that. Geez, what the hell were you doing during Stalking 101?

I don't understand how a spellchecker can lack "wanker." Its a central part of my vocabulary ;)

SMP: Just watch that you aren't a despot like usual. It's not nice.

Beaky: Heh, don't we all? Need serious help I mean... And I'm working on cleaning my house. Or at least thinking about it. I keep having nightmares that someone else has cleaned up my house and I don't know who it is. I have to walk around completely mortified because anyone, anyone could know what a mess I am...

EW: I'm attempting to move beyond my stalker roots. And I didn't really get into the statcounter.com thing for the stalker applications, that was just a happy bonus. Mostly I just wanted an invisible hit counter. That it lets me see how you all navigated in, how long you stayed, what you were snacking on while you perused the mundanity, etc, is all just gravy.

Don't worry, my stalking is only superficial. I only want her body :P As for my despotism, I'm a benign despot, and usually leave my people alone after I convert their country into a nudist casino.
